The first of our online project meetings of the KlimaOER working group took place on July 24, with all four locations Bonn, Cologne, Hamburg and Karlsruhe represented. The knowledge of all participants was compared and the first important contacts for the OER network were made. In addition, plans and goals for the coming period and responsibilities were defined. Specifically, we are currently working on guidelines for inclusion and the first school visit with the climate kit is already being planned.
In the course of the other monthly meetings of this kind, we have mainly focused on finding an example of best practice. This should include small learning units to stimulate interest in meteorology and also show how general OER content is created. Finally, we settled on the topic of wind. Our goal is to present the question "Why does the wind blow?" and related topics such as wind measurements, geostrophies, and wind energy in as many different ways as possible within a Moodle course. The course should not only be interesting for students, but also for teachers from an OER perspective.
The first face-to-face meeting of the active contributors is now scheduled for early October in Bonn, where a workshop on inclusion and digital accessibility will be held.
